Rolling Stonesの影響がもろに出ている彼らのデビューアルバムですね。とにかく印象が強いのはロッド・スチュワートを髣髴とさせるスパイクのVoと、UKの古き良きRock N’ Rollを継承した楽曲の数々ではないでしょうか？とにかく見た目とは違い渋いRockを聴かせてくれます。楽曲の粒もそろっていて、バラード、パーティソング、スライド、ホンキートンク、ピアノ、ハーモニカと多彩。ただ、不幸なことに当時のマネージャーがシャロン・オズボーンだったことで、HR/HMというイメージが先行してしまい、楽曲と刷り込まれたイメージとのギャップが大きかったので、大衆的に聴かれず、更に渋い音と比較して、歌詞がL.A.Metalか！！と突っ込みたくなるものが多く、一発屋として消えていってしまいました。このリマスターアルバムには8曲のデモ音源が追加されるそうですが、この価格ならまず、「Little Bit Of What You Fancy / Bitter Sweet And Twisted」の2枚の初期オリジナルアルバムをコンプリートした作品を聴くことをお奨めします。この2枚の作品は本当に素晴らしい楽曲満載の隠れた名盤ですので。
