This new release of the Europakonzert Blu-ray series on recorded excellence follows the Berlin Philharmonic on their journey through the continent. This 1992 concert was recorded at the historic El Escorial monastery. The Berlin Philharmonic is joined by Placido Domingo under the baton of Daniel Barenboim for performances of Verdi's overture to La forza del destino and the aria of Don Carlo, Berlioz's La damnation de Faust, Schubert's Unfinished Symphony and excerpts from Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Numberg, Die Walkure and Gotterdammerung.
