ONCE is a modern day musical set on the streets of Dublin. Featuring Glen Hansard, lead singer of the Irish band The Frames, the film tells the story of a street musician and a Czech immigrant during an eventful week as they write, rehearse and record songs that reveal their unique love story. アカデミー賞を獲った”Falling Slowly”を含む絶品のサントラ。The Framesのグレンがメインボーカルをとる曲が多いものの、マルケタの繊細な声が加わることで、楽曲に哀愁や癒しを感じ取る部分を増幅させている。映画も素晴らしいが、音楽だけを取り上げてもすぐに情景が浮かぶようなサウンドとなっている。The Swell Seasonとしても2ndアルバムを企画していると言うことなので、そちらにも期待。
