オリジナルPunkやNew Wave、N.W.O.B.H.M.をリアルタイムに聴いてきた世代の人間として、80年代半頃のL.A.メタルや90年前後のグランジ・ムーブメントにおけるアメリカのサウンドにはあまり馴染むことが出来なかった。しかしこのNIRVANAだけは例外である。彼らのサウンドはノイジーでも低音に比重が置かれ、耳障りではなく何故か心地良い。2枚組のDeluxe Editionに収録されたオリジナル・アルバム未収録曲も聴き応えあり。オールド・ロック・ファンには前作『Bleach』にも戻って、ショッキング・ブルーのカバー「Love Buzz」で萌えてもらいたい。
