この為、マスターテープに較べると、僅かではありますが音の変化が生じてしまうのですが、エクストンでは、そういった環境の中でも最高のものを商品としてお送りしてきました。
　しかし、今回、さらにこのマスターテープの音とほぼ同一のものをお届けできないかと考えた結果、マスターテープから最初にスタンパー制作されたヴァージンスタンパーからおこしたディスク≪ダイレクト・カットSACD≫をごく少数ですが制作することになりました。

少なくともこの盤に限って言えばオーケストラが明らかに下手。しかも編集ミスと思われる箇所もある（例：だったん人の踊りの最初の序奏らしき部分が終わった後、有名な旋律部分に入る箇所）。全体的にオーソドックスなのは良いとしても例えば新世界で見せたような音の実在感などは乏しくただ流しているような感じなのは気になる。

格調の高い、オーソドックスな名演です。あえて個性を押し出さずとも、十分に魅力的な曲であることを伝えようとしたのか、曲そのものにその魅力を語らせようとしたのか、コバケンさんの音楽性の高さを証明する好演だと思います。その分、オーソドックスであることに価値を見出だせない方には、今一つな演奏かもしれません。

海外製CD専用プレーヤはSACDハイブリッドのディスクを認識しない場合が多い（読めるディスクと読めないディスクがある）とのことです。これも通常CDのみでの発売の理由の一つと思われます。
