【ストーリー】

ミッチは誰もが羨む華やかな生活を送るスポーツライター。ある夜、テレビで大学時代の恩師のインタビューを目にする。そこでは、不治の病に冒され、僅かな余命を生きるモリーが「人生で一番大切なこと」について熱心に語っていた。
その話は「本当の幸せ」を見失っていたミッチの心に響き、彼は16年振りに恩師の下を訪ねる。毎週火曜日、「本当の幸せ」を学ぶために…。『アパートの鍵貸します』など、数々の名作を残したジャック・レモンの遺作となったハートフルドラマ。

原作は、難病ALS(筋萎縮性側索硬化症)に侵されたモリー・シュワルツ教授が自らの死を前にして、かつての教え子であるミッチに贈った「最後の授業」を記録したもので、1997年にアメリカで出版されベスト・セラーとなったノンフィクション小説である。日本においても何度も出版され、NHKラジオドラマでの放送、朗読音楽劇（2008年初演、2010年、2012年に再演）として上演されるなど、人気を博している。

私の人生これでいいのか？ちょっと休んで肩に乗せている小鳥に聞いてみたくなります。毎日に追われて疲れきっている人に・・・。涙の後にはすっきり！！請け合いです！‘死’を見つめて‘生きる’を考えるって難しいことを噛み砕いて教えてくれるすっごくいい映画です！！
