Content Description

近未来──地球の資源は底をついた。宇宙飛行士のサムはエネルギー源を月より地球へ送るために、ルナー・インダストリーズ社よりたった一人で派遣されていた。月での生活は、毎日決まった時間に起き、ランニングマシーンに乗り、ヘリウム3 を採掘するだけの日々。話し相手はコンピューターのガーティだけ。3 年という契約期間を淡々とこなし、やっと、地球に戻れる日が2週間後に迫っていたのだが―――！？

おそらくこの邦題は、監督の父親であるデヴィッド・ボウィの「地球に堕ちてきた男」を意識したものだと思います。グラム全盛期からのボウィのファンにはニンマリの邦題ですが、内容とはかけ離れています。あるいはこの日本でのタイトルは、この映画の意外性を隠すための配慮であるとすれば、それは成功しています。てっきり月の魅力にとり憑かれて月から離れられなくなった科学者の話かと当初は思っていました。ところがところが。その「意外性」は使い古されたネタなのですが、この映画は、なかなかうまく作られています。 SFという形式で語られるアイデンティティを捜し求める悲しい物語。自分が何者なのか？自分の存在は？自分と家族や知人とのつながりは？大きな疎外感に襲われ、その中から、なんとか自己を見出していこうとする主人公。観ていてとてもせつなくなり、悲しくなってきました。ネタバレになるので書きにくいのですが、命を与え、心を与えたのであれば、その瞬間にモノではなく、ひとりの人格として扱うのが当然であると思います。そんな単純なものではないと言われそうですが、あえて。地味な作品ながら人間の未来への警鐘を超えて、ヒューマン・ドラマとなっています。佳作。

サスペンスのような内容で見ていてあきない映画。登場人物はたったの1人。その中、ここまで見せれるのは一種の才能かもしれないです。設定はありがちで、地球の資源が底をついたと言う解説から始まる。そこから、主人公の一人演技が始まる。ただもう少しサスペンス色の濃い内容の方が良かったかも?? 嫌いじゃないです。むしろ好きな映画です。
