With any kind of serial innovator there’s always going to be a danger that, because people are always expecting the unexpected, there will eventually be some kind of fall from grace. It’s only natural that even the greatest of the great can have an off-day and, in the case of Missy Elliott and her creativity-stuffed oeuvre, it would come as little surprise to find that her new album just doesn’t stand up to al that’s gone before. However, the truth is that ‘This Is A Test’ is Missy confirming that she is still very much top of the pile. Whilst the hype around her last ‘Under Construction’ set more about her body size, ‘This Is Not A Test’ is all about life after re-construction. The ‘Pass That Dutch’ single has already set the good times rolling and tracks like ‘Toyz’ show that Missy is still more than up for chatting up the sexier side of things whilst her duet with R Kelly on ‘Dat’s What I’m Talkin’ About’ is all about good thug lovin’. Other guests on the set include Jay-Z, Elephant Man, Monica, Fabolous and more, whilst the likes of Craig Brockman and the Soul Diggaz share other production duties alongside Missy and Timbaland.

超豪華ｹﾞｽﾄ陣を迎えて発表された2003年作。奇天烈ﾍﾝﾃｺ怪しいﾄﾗｯｸは変わらず、特に今までになく軽妙によく跳ねてる印象。そんでもって歌ﾓﾉ度も増して心地良さも増し増し。個人的ﾍﾞｽﾄﾁｭｰﾝは⑦のR.KELLY参加曲。ねっちょりまとわりつくようで。あっ、やっぱ⑧のぽんぽこしたﾋﾞｰﾄもいい。彼女を越えるｸﾘｴｲﾀｰは未だ現れず。
