2010年モンテカルロでのオーケストラとの共演アルバム『ナイト・イン・モンテカルロ』、2011年『TUTU』の楽曲をクリスチャン・スコットをフィーチャーし、自ら再演したプロジェクト『トリビュート・トゥ・マイルス(TUTU REVISTED)』のライヴDVD／CD、DMSのツアーなど、新たな挑戦/模索やプロジェクト的作品が続いていたマーカスが、2007年『フリー』以来5年ぶりとなるオリジナル新作をリリース。


近年、精力的にレギュラー・バンドでのライブ活動を続ける彼が、ファンクとジャズを基調に追究する究極のバンド・サウンドを展開。ジャマイカ・ボーイズ結成当時に一緒によく演奏し、多くの影響を受けたソウル・ジャズのカリスマ、ウェルドン・アーヴァインに捧げたマーカス自身のオリジナル・ソングやイヴァン・リンスが作曲し、クインシー・ジョーンズの演奏でも有名なブラジリアン・ウェディング・ソングをプレイ。
