メルビッシュ湖上音楽祭／ロシアの皇太子（抜粋）

メルビッシュ湖上音楽祭は、毎年ウィーン近郊のブルゲンランド州ノイジィドラー湖で行われる毎年恒例の音楽祭。約40日間毎日行われ、何十万人の観客が押し寄せています。日本からもこの音楽祭のためのツアーもありますし、NHKで放映もされるくらい有名なものです。
　2010年の演目は『ロシアの皇太子』で、今回初演目となります。当盤はそこで上演する歌手とオーケストラによるスタジオ録音です。抜粋とはなっておりますが、ほとんどのアリアなど音楽部分は収録されております。音楽祭に先駆けての録音と発売となり、予習用またはお土産用のCDとして、エームズ・クラシックスのベストセラーにもなっているシリーズです。（ソニー・インポート）

ロシアの皇太子はレハール晩年のオペレッタで、レハールの作品では知られているほうですが『陽気な未亡人』、『ルクセンブルク伯爵』、同じく晩年の作品『微笑みの国』に比べれば録音も少なくマイナーな存在です。しかし、レハールならではの夢見るような美しいメロディや、バラライカを取り入れた異国情緒溢れるこの作品は上記の３作にも匹敵する出来です。久々の新録音のこのCDでは台詞無しで、音楽はほとんど収録されており、全曲聴くのはしんどいと言う方におすすめです。勿論、オペレッタ・ファン、レハール・ファンが聴いても問題ありません。メルビッシュ湖上音楽祭管弦楽団の演奏は安全運転ぎみですが、レハールのメロディに酔うには十分でしょう。セラフィンを初めとした歌手も素晴らしい。最新録音だけあり、音質は問題ありません。
