1986年といえば名盤が多くリリースされた年でしたが、どちらかといえばノリのいい楽曲粒ぞろいといった傾向だったものです。その中で透明感のある「潤い」たっぷりのアルバムとしてナイトドライブのＢＧＭとしてカセットが擦り切れるまで聞いたものでした。最初にＪＢＬのスピーカーからアコギのリアルな音を聴いた時の感動は今でも蘇ります。少し肌寒い季節の星空のきれいな夜に、当時の想いに耽りながら聞くのが毎年の楽しみになりました。

「夜の彷徨」「ストライクス・トワイス」「夢飛行」の再発が決まったみたいだけど、「真の名盤」はこの「アローン・バット・ネヴァー・アローン」だと断言してしまおう！！　　この作品を持っていないファンは真のカールトンファンではない。　リック・マロッタの参加も嬉しいところ。
