「けれんみがない」という言葉が一番似合う。「My Wild Irish Rose」のシンプルな演奏に込められた想い。「Be My Love」のせつなさ…。全10曲のすべてが、小さいけれど大切な宝物。　　お世話になった方、大切な友人に何か贈り物したい時、真っ先に思いつくのがこのディスク。

ピアノソロということであれば、僕は真っ先にこのアルバムをお勧めする。キース・ジャレット、最高のジャズピアニストが最愛の人に捧げた心が震えるような名演奏。慢性疲労症候群による2年間の暗い闘病生活を経て、復活を期して自宅のスタジオで録音された渾身の作品。苦しみを乗り越えて解き放たれたキースが、ピアノへの愛、支えてくれる人への愛を美しいメロディーに想いを乗せて、一音一音に心を込めて奏でる魂の音楽。この素晴らしい音楽を分類することはできない。ジャズであり、クラッシックであり、ソウルであり、ロックですらあるだろう

穏やかな温かさに満ち、安堵感漂うサウンドです。ぎりぎりで踏みとどまれた幸運は、彼から元々少ない邪念を更に薄めたみたいです。病という孤独な闘いで初めて支えとなる存在に出会ったとき、たとえ完治しなくとも生きることのはかなさとなお残る生への未練は、いつも本音の告白となります。宗教色なくて幸いです。生命は実にリアルに危機と対峙せざるを得ません。
