小学生の時分、親戚のみんなでよくスキーに行ってた時、いつもカーステで流れていたのが、これだった。当時、歌詞の内容はよく理解できなかったと思うが、父親や妹など大切な家族との愛情のことや、鳥たちの囀りが賑やかなかつての美しい農村のこと、駅のホームでの大切な人との別れや物悲しい恋愛のことなどを唄っていたことくらいはわかっていたと思う（生意気）。そしてこの年になって（超）久し振りに聴いてみたら、なんと、昔を懐かしんで、ただ、ぼお～っと聴き流すことができないことに少し驚いた。やはり、曲と歌詞が、半端じゃなく、レベル高いんだな、これが（偉）。少し大袈裟だが、あの世に持っていきたい数少ない名盤の一枚になるんじゃないか（荒井由実の『ユーミンブランド』、さだまさしの『私花集』も入るかな。『ベルベットイースター』『加速度』なんかは最上の曲だよ、今、思うと）。ちなみに『この秋』は、かつて女性を口説くのによくカラオケで唄ったものよ…（ふう～っ、煙草（高いけど）美味いな～）。

再結成時のアルバムからの収録が多すぎる。少なくとも解散時のベストＬＰ「かぐや姫フォーエバー」の収録曲は網羅した上で、もっと１９７５年迄の曲を優先して欲しかった。
