    大学４年のときでしたね、私がオーレックス・ジャズ・フェスティバルでの福岡公演を観たのは。 ウェザー時代のジャコを見そこねていたので、ビッグ･バンドでのジャコはどうしても観たかった。 公演開始前の予鈴のブザーとともに短髪の男がステージに現れ、いきなりドラムソロとともにInvitationが始まった。 ジャコが髪を切っていたとは知らなかった。しょっぱなのInvitationでテンションの高い演奏を聞かせ、Elegant Peopleも大迫力。 隣席の男性がカップ酒と竹輪で一杯やりながらの声援（今思えば、場内飲食禁止ではなかったか？）。 タオルでベースをひっぱたくパフォーマンスにも大盛り上がり。 Okonkole’ Y Trompaでの静寂で深遠な感じの演奏。Rezaも大迫力の大満足。 余韻冷めぬ公演後のロビーで、高校時代から密かに好きだった女の子（大学４年生）が男の人と来ていたのに遭遇。 贅沢なビッグ･バンドによる演奏でこの年の夏は終わった感じでした。 その後、LPで発売されたTWINS IとII迷わず購入。長らくCD化されず貴重盤と思っていたが、その後このようにCD化されLPの貴重性がなくなった。 しかし、Elegant Peopleの演奏はNHKで放送された武道館での演奏の方が私は好きだったのでTWINS I、IIにはやや不満があった。 その不満も後年、武道館ライブが発表され解消。NHKさんありがとうございました。 このTWINS I、IIはElegant Peopleの演奏には不満があるものの当時の興奮をよみがえらせてくれるにはじゅうぶんの秀作です。

    確かに音が悪いが、そんな事この際どうでも好いや。自分が観にいった公演が作品としてリリースされて嬉しい限り。しかしどの公演の収録かクレジットがないから実際には分からんがな。神奈川県民ホール。
