デュランデュランの新作であり、かなりの意欲作に感じられます！ペイパー・ゴッズ (feat.ミスター・ハドソン)、 ラスト・ナイト・イン・ザ・シティ (feat.カイザ)、 プレッシャー・オフ (feat.ジャネール・モネイ＆ナイル・ロジャース)はかなりのキラーチューン！今も衰えずにチャレンジ精神旺盛なバンドに感服です

前作「All You Need Is Now」の延長線上にある作品だが、丁寧な作りでファンならずとも安心して聴ける。 ナイル・ロジャース参加と言っても一時期のハードコア的音作りでは無く、通して聴くと80年代絶頂期の軽さも備えていると分かる。 とりわけ、M2「ラスト・ナイト…」M5「フェイス・フォー…」M11「オンリー・イン…」などにその影響・匂いを感じる。 80年代ニューロマンティクスに懐かしさを覚えるファンにオススメの佳作アルバムだ。

タイトルに合わせたか、「紙」ジャケ仕様！！通称「ペイパー・スリーヴ・ゴッズ」（冗談）。てっきり日本盤はプラケース仕様と疑わなかったので、正直驚き。ステッカーにも表記されていますが、“世界でも最も収録曲が多い全１６曲”です。 一通り聴いた印象ですが、想定していたロンソン＆ナイル色は濃くないです。 彼らの、「懐の深さを感じさせる一作」に仕上がったとでも言いましょうか。 そして、野心に満ちたオトナの（解説書にも明記されています→）パーティー・アルバム。 ロジャーのドラムは控えめ、前作では結構全面に出されていたドムのギターはほとんど（全く）裏方、ジョンのベースもシンセベースを多用・・・と、エレクトロニック・ダンス・ミュージック（EDM）が主軸で少々外された感もありますが、コレはハマルアルバムになるかも？！
