ダイアー・ストレイツの3枚目。今後のバンドの方向性が感じられる作品。大作傾向に変わってきのと、この頃でマークノップラーの作曲能力の基礎が出来た。ソリッドな大人のロックナンバーが印象的。１．２．５．６がお勧め。今聞いても、文句ない出来だ。

彼らの80年代最初で3枚目のアルバムは、マークの弟・デヴィットが抜けて3人構成となって発表された。色々なレヴューを書いてきているが、10点はこの作品だけ。マークのブルースギターと作曲能力はほぼ完成されている。やや大作主義になってきているが。このアルバムの曲は、今でもライブで欠かせない。2曲目は泣かせる。とにかくこのアルバムは説明したら切りがない。聴いて！

ディランとのレコーディングを経験した後だからか、⑥が特にディランっぽい。②は名曲。①や④もお薦め。まあ、全部お薦めですが…。
