The box is released to coincide with the start of 'Reflections on Debussy': a festival led by Noriko Ogawa at Bridgewater Hall celebrating the music of Claude Debussy in his 150th anniversary year. The festival runs from January to June 2012.

彼女の音楽はCDだけでは判らないかもしれない。がこの盤は聴いて損は絶対ないと思う。最近演奏会に行く機会があった。「ピアノはひとが弾くもの」と言うことを改めて思わずにはいられない演奏だった。

私は全集としては古いですがモニック・アースのものが好きでした。でも、このアルバムを聞いて正直びっくりしました。同じ楽譜を演奏してこんなにも違うイメージ！！モニック・アースのものは本当にきれい。例えて言えばパステル画でしょうか。でも小川典子さんのは全然違う。あえて言えば光と影。明と暗。力とやさしさ。・・水墨画！！ふとよぎりました。わびとさびの世界観も感じさせられました。私が特に好きなアラベスク№１などは演奏時間は2分近く長い。でも、ダレルどころか圧倒されました。同じ楽譜なのに。これだから聞き比べは止められない。涙が出るくらい嬉しかったです。どうか絶対このCDだけじゃなく、他のものも聞いて下さい。そしたらこのCDの良さが一層分かると思います。テクニックもすごい。

アラベスクの出だしからびっくり仰天。これはドビュッシーじゃなくてスクリャービンじゃないの？ベロフやフランソワとかロジェなんかと全然違う、ゆっくり丁寧なアプローチだけど独特の癒しの世界。ロマンチックとも違う、もっと深い深層心理世界。これでこの値段こりゃーお値打ちですぜ旦那。
