残念ながら２００９年９月にＬＡで亡くなられたそうです。彼はイギリス本国では絶大な人気を誇っていました。イギリスでエリザベス女王や皇太子、王子など皇室の方々主催で国葬が営まれており、その時の様子がＹｏｕＴｕｂｅで見れました。その事でも国民的歌手だった事が伺えます。とても悲しい・・・。ご冥福をお祈り致します。ちなみにこのベスト盤収録の、ＴｈｅＬａｄｙＩｎＲｅｄ（全米３位）が数あるベストの中で最も音質がイイです。でも収録アルバムで最高傑作でもある、ＩｎｔｏＴｈｅＬｉｇｈｔ（全米２５位、当時全米で５０万枚突破）を是非ともおススメ。（リマスターを望む希少な１枚）

８７年ビルボード全米アルバム最高２５位。全米シングル３位を記録した名バラードの傑作、ＴｈｅＬａｄｙＩｎＲｅｄの大ヒットのお陰でアルバムもヒット。当時、全米で５０万枚突破。しかし、全米よりも当時イギリス本国では絶大な人気を誇っていた覚えがある。本作は勿論、全英アルバム１位でＴｈｅＬａｄｙ～もシングル１位。本作は８６年～８７年に駆けて全英でロングセラー記録。このヒットで来日公演も実現。どうも前曲の大ヒットでバラードのイメージが強くなりがちかもしれないけど、このアルバムは意外やポップで爽快な曲が多い。透明感溢れる声と英版ウエストコース的？サウンドメロディはとても心地イイ！。ＴｈｅＬａｄｙ～のイメージで聞くと、そのギャップに驚くはず。全英でバカ売れしたのも納得できると思う。ベスト盤が多数出ているけどそれより遥かに、彼の最高傑作にしてこのアルバムだけは是非ともおススメ！。
