ナショナル・エディションによる初のショパン全曲演奏会からのライヴ録音シリーズの3枚目と4枚目。3枚目の方は、ノクターンの前にシューマンを、エチュードの前にバッハを配しているのが面白い。4枚目では、珍しい小品2曲もさることながら、ピアノ協奏曲第1番のソロ・ピアノ版が聴きもの。意外というかなんというか、ソロ・ピアノの方がいいじゃんと思ったくらいだ。それにしても河合はずいぶんゆっくりしたテンポで弾いている。一音一音慈しむように音を積み重ねて、ショパンの思いをすべて掬い上げている。(T)(CDジャーナル データベースより)
