２枚組ですが、１枚目がトリオでのアコースティック基調な演奏。２枚目がゲストをむかえたエレクトリック基調の演奏となっています。 Chick Coreaの懐古的アルバムの場合、スタンダード(とその周辺の)曲とchick coreaのオリジナルが並ぶ構図になり易いのですが、そうなると完全にchick coreaのオリジナルのほうに分がありましてオリジナル曲の良さと楽しさが映えるところがありまして、この盤でもオリジナルのほうがベタ過ぎて笑っちゃう(苦笑含む)ところも含めて、印象はとっても強いと感じられます。

安心して聴けるところがいいところだ。だが私が最近クラシック音楽を聴きだしているせいだと思うが、その上ではともすればそちらのほうで得られるリラックス感の方が大きくも感じてしまう。もしかするとやや手の混んだ思索やイフェクトも演ってみれば疲れるのかもしれない。知っている曲だと確かに客は入るかも知れないが、ＳＡＣＤならデジタルアンプでもまぁいいかと思いだしているようなこのにわかリアリストは気落ちもするところ。しかし、ここは買って損はない。サウンドはこなれて美しい。

前のリターンズでは、ロックグループみたい...

前のリターンズでは、ロックグループみたいに再結成で金儲け？と思ったけど、今回は、メンバーはほぼ同じでも全く新しい音楽を作り出している。ファイブトリオズの若手とやった新しい感覚に比べれば後退しているけど、最近のチックの中でも特によかった。
