粋な男 -ライブ

以前ビデオで出ていた同ライブは、２２曲９２分の内容でした。本ＤＶＤは、１６曲６２分と短縮されています。必殺の「Pecado」がカットされたのはツライ・・・。でも字幕付きの貴重な日本盤ＤＶＤに違いありません。即、買いです。画質は・・・少し離れて観れば大丈夫。文句言いません。９５年の「粋な男」ライブは、もっとも一般受けしやすい、入りやすいカエターノが聴けると個人的に思います。驚異的に美しいカエターノの声、カエターノの弾き語り、ジャキスのチェロと指揮するオーケストラ、音楽がなだらかに流れていきます。ラテンの名曲群の中に、「想いあふれて」（歌う前のカエターノの表情がたまらない）、自作「レオンジーニョ」（カエターノの口笛がたまらない）、「ハイチ」（鋭いナイフのようなカエターノが顔を出す）が入り、堪能しました。白眉は、無伴奏独唱の「満月のトナーダ」でしょうか。切り捨てるような、唐突な終わりが「粋」です。余談ですが、このライブのＣＤは、１７曲６５分で、このＤＶＤに未収録な曲が４曲、更に本元のビデオにも未収録な曲が（もちろんこのＤＶＤにも）、４曲あって、よりプリミティブな感触が増大した印象があり楽しめます。

振り返るとこの夏はラテンに完全にはまっていた。当然ながらブラジルのミュージシャンが作る音楽は最高。その紛れもないリーダー、カエターノ・ヴェローゾ。広い大地と美しいメロディーを独自のリズムと美しい声で表現する男。彼の80年代では一番だと思うこの名盤は、初めて聴く人にも入りやすいメロディアスな歌曲集。このリイシュー・リマスター盤は、音が相当良くなっていて特にお勧め。ジャケ写もカッコいいよね
