1985年ガスタイクこけら落とし公演ライヴ

チェリビダッケの得意レパートリーのひとつでもあるブルックナーの交響曲第5番に映像ソフトが登場。
　チェリビダッケ＆ミュンヘン・フィルの5番というと、1993年のガスタイクでのライヴ録音盤(EMI)と、1986年のサントリーホールでのライヴ録音盤(ALTUS)が有名で、どちらも巨大なスケールの中で繰り広げられる、オーケストラの息長く分厚くしかも美しい響きが印象深い希有な名演として知られていました。
　今回は来日公演の前年である1985年、本拠地ガスタイクのオープニングを飾る特別なコンサートとしてテレビ中継されたときの映像で、その公演の成功が伝説的なものだっただけに、DVDでのリリースはたいへん歓迎されるところです。（ＨＭＶ）

画質、音質ともに特に問題はない。以前Altusから発売されたサントリーホールライブに比べて、幾分デッドな音響だが、その分緊張感のある演奏が聴ける。クライマックスの金管群の強奏など気合の入り方が違う。繊細さではAltus盤が優位だが、チェリの気合のこもったブル5が聴きたい（観たい）方は是非どうぞ。
