2019年グラミー賞6部門でノミネート、3部門でWinne となったBrandi Carlile　6作目のスタジオアルバムです。自身のLGBTを背景にしたと思われる「The Joke」のヒットを知るまでは全く気づかなかったアーチストでしたが、「We Walk The Line ： A Celebration of the Music of Johnny Cash」にゲスト参加したり、Buddy Millerの「Cayamo Sessions at Sea」に入っていたりでそれなりに耳にしていたことに今頃気づきました。 このアルバム「The Joke」が良過ぎて他の曲が霞んで見えるは私だけでしょうか。それでもこのような曲を最高賞で称えるアメリカの音楽界は素晴らしいと思います。 YouTube で双子の兄弟ギタリストを両脇に歌う野外コンサート見てBelinda Carlisleの新しいスタイルかと思いながら、別人と気付くのに相当時間が掛かりました”おっさん”のコメントでした。
