この素晴らしいCDが廃盤でしたか？私の持っている物はジャケットが違うのと、録音年代が1991年表記？後はまるで同じ？？？マリエッラ・デヴィーアの最後のアリアを聴くだけでも買う価値のあるCD。

1994年のフィレンツェ5月音楽祭でのライブ録音。日頃、ソプラノとメゾソプラノで歌われることが多いノルマとアダルジーザを、初演と同様にソプラノ同士とした録音です。アダルジーザ役は、カラスがタイトルロールを演じた1955年12月のライブ録音でのジュリエッタ・シミオナートという名手が思い浮かびますが、この録音におけるエヴァ・メイのアダルジーザは、本来想定されていた「若い娘」という役柄にピッタリです。通常メゾソプラノが歌うと、ノルマよりアダルジーザが年上に響いてしまいます。しかし、ソプラノが歌うことで役に真実味が出ています。特に、素晴らしいのは第2幕の二重唱です。ベッリーニのシンプルで美しいメロディとソプラノ同士の澄んだ歌声は、「ベルカント」そのもの。演奏もカラス版のようにカットが施されておらず、この作品の価値を知る上でも大事な録音だと思います。カラスでこのオペラを知った人には、ぜひ聴いてみてほしい1枚。同じイタリアオペラでもヴェルディやドニゼッティとはまた違うベッリーニの魅力を発見できます。
