グールドは素晴らしい芸術家にかわりない。でも、ここにおさめられているワーグナー／グールド編：『ニュルンベルクのマイスタージンガー』～第1幕への前奏曲の映像があるけれどわたしはグールドがこれほど「表現における幸福」を見たことがない。このＣＤにおさめられている演奏は自身、デユットしたと語っております。つまり多重録音（一度録音したものにまた演奏をかぶせるということで厳格なクラシック愛好家にはとても許せない行為）したと告白しております。わたしはグールドの倫理観は信じます。つまりどうしても・ワーグナー『ニュルンベルクのマイスタージンガー』～第1幕への前奏曲をピアノで再現したかった。ただ、２本の手では再現できないとなれば録音技術にかけた。 you tube で「グレン・グールド　マイスタージンガー」と検索して頂きたい。グールドの理念、そして、オーケストラでは聴きとれない、ワーグナーが今迄の理論における声部に反しつつも微妙なひとへの魅惑が何故あるのか？グールドのピアノによる編曲ほどしらしめてくれるものもない。オーケストラの豊饒なテクチャーに埋没しがちな声部をグールドはピアノによって明晰に表している。

学生時代、ビートルズやベンチャーズに明け暮れていた頃、イムジチの四季のＬＰを何気なく購入し、私のクラシックへの扉が開かれた。ピアノよりはオーケストラを好んでいたが、突然グールドのピアノ版運命が発売され、月1000円だった小遣いを2か月貯めて漸く手に入れた。楽譜が付いていてそれを眺めながら聴き入った。オーケストラより10分程長かったが、凄い演奏で感動したものだった。中々ＣＤが見つからず発売を待っていたので、直ぐに購入した。演奏も凄いが、グールドの唸り声は尋常ではない。このＣＤは私を40年前に導いてくれる。ジャケットのデザインも3人の横顔が並んだ印象に残るものだった。同じ経験の世代の方にお薦めです。それにしてもこの価格には嬉しい気持より、腹立たしい気持が勝るのは、歳のせいか。
