クレーメルの演奏は素晴らしいのだが、クイケンやポッジャーなどのバロックヴァイオリンで演奏したものに慣れた耳からすると、正直モダンヴァイオリンは音量は大きすぎ多少くどいと感じる。

求道者的な演奏というのが第一印象。　　旧盤は「妖刀」と表現したくなるような鋭利な音でスパッと切りつけられるような印象を持っていた。（“刀”の表現を使うとすると）この新盤では（宮本武蔵が船の櫓を削って作った）木刀のような音の印象。ざっくりしていて余計なものは一切ついていないような。　　　クレーメルはライナーノートの中で「･･･（音符という）小さな記号が何ギガバイトもの情報を伝える･･･」と記しているが、一つひとつの音から様々な「何か」を考えることができる演奏と思う。その「何か」が「何」であるかは聴くたびに変わるだろうし、所詮いつまでたっても解決することもないと思う。だからこそ、数多くの演奏者が挑んでいるのだろう。

先にレビューを書かれている方と同じセリフになります。私もクレーメルとクイケンを聴いていきます（ただし、シェリングなどの名盤を否定する気は全くありません）。20年前のアルバムよりは薄らいだものの、やはり鋭利・怜悧な音が身に突き刺さってくるようです。この刺激に疲れたときにクイケンで癒されます。
