速弾きに関してはアレだが、メタル界屈指の天才的作曲能力とシンガー選びの目利きの高さでそこらのテクだけギタリストをいとも容易く捻じ伏せてしまう、そんな不思議な魅力を持つアクセルルディペル。柔よく剛を制すと言う言葉がよく似合う人物だ。そんな彼の現時点での最高傑作が本作だ。神々しいまでに完成度が高い為、恐らく本人もこれ以上の作品はもう作れないのではないか。捨て曲は皆無、全曲が高水準に纏まっているが、とりわけ1曲目Earls Of Blackはメタル史に燦然と輝く銘曲である。疾走曲でこれほどまでに衝撃を受けたのはイングヴェイのRising Force以来だ。そして本作を語る上で特質すべきはシンガーのジョニージョエリだ。これほどまでに素晴らしいシンガーを見つけてくるとは、流石アクセルだ。また本作の完成度をより一層高めているのが、それまでの作品にあった無理な速弾きを極力控え、メロディアスな演奏に徹しているアクセルのギターソロだ。スローなフレーズとなると魅力的なプレイができる人物だと分かった。ボーナストラックであるユーライアヒープのJuly Morningのカバーも実に素晴らしい。紫色を基調としたアルバムジャケットも粋な感じで気に入っている。追伸：話は逸れるが、ライブに於けるアクセルのステージングは実に威風堂々としておりオーラを感じる。直立不動で殆ど動くことはなく、黙々と弾くだけなのだが、何か言い知れぬ威厳を感じるのだ。
