    60年代のアレサのアルバムのなかでは、「I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You(貴方だけを愛して) ] 「LadySoul」と「Aretha Now」が代表作という位置づけになるかと思いますが、HMVレヴューにある「豪快なリズム・ナンバーから計り知れないスケールをもったバラードまで」というのがこのアルバムの特徴といったところでしょうか。 個人的にはルーズなミドルテンポの「01． チェイン・オブ・フールズ」がなんともたまらないです（こういうのを聞いていると最近のR＆BはどこがR＆Bなのかわからない気がするんですが…笑）。 また「05． ナチュラル・ウーマン」は、60年代のR＆Bバラードとしては、最高峰の一曲に入れてよいと思います（まさにLadySoul！ちなみに作曲は、キャロル・キング、ジェリー・ゴーフィン、ジュリー・ウェクスラーの三人による共作）当時の典型的なR＆Bスタイルナンバーともいえる「06． 愛する貴方を失くして」が収録されています。 他、個人的には「02． マネー・ウォント・チェンジ・ユー」。この時代らしいアレンジの「04． ニキ・ホーキー」。ブルージーな魅力の「 07． グッド・トゥ・ミー （クラプトン参加）」などもお勧めです。

    レヴューがないので書いてみました（レヴューがないからとって、こういう名盤よりマニア向けの編集盤などから先に買う人がでては残念ですしね）。 60年代のアレサのアルバムのなかでは、「I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You(貴方だけを愛して) ] 「LadySoul」と「Aretha Now」が代表作という位置づけになるかと思いますが、Atlantic移籍一枚目として、その後のアレサの方向性を決定付けた一枚として歴史的一枚となったといってもよいアルバムだと思います。 R＆Bの古典と呼べる「01． リスペクト」「03． 貴方だけを愛して」「07． ドクター・フィールグッド」「 09． 恋のおしえ」等が収録されている他、 変わったアレンジの「05． 夢をさまさないで」 隠れた名曲「06． ベイビー、ベイビー、ベイビー」 ロックぽいアレンジの「10． セイヴ・ミー」 言わずと知れた名曲「11． ア・チェンジ・イズ・ゴナ・カム」 などが収録されています。
