    アンダーソン作品をトップレベルのオーケストラが良い音で録音した盤は非常に少ない。その中で、この１枚をベストとして推す。サービス精神旺盛な指揮者と楽団である、演奏に失望することはありえないと保証する。録音も鮮明だ。同作曲家のマニアックなファンの方は、同じ指揮者がＮＡＸＯＳに全曲録音を進行中なので、そちらを収集すべきだろう。

    アメリカのライト・ミュージックの王様、ルロイ・アンダーソンの作品を、吹奏楽で有名なフェネルが指揮した物。 イーストマン＝ロチェスター・ポップス管弦楽団を指揮した音源(T14)までと、ロンドンで録音されたオーケストラとだけクレジットされた団体二つを降っている。 イーストマンとの録音、吹奏楽ではなかなかの名演揃いだったが、ここでは 曲によって不出来出来はあると思う。 といっても問題なく聴ける水準だが。 一方、固有名称不明のロンドンのオーケストラとの録音は素晴らしく、メリハリとユーモア溢れる好演。 尚、一部の有名曲が入ってないが、それはもう１枚のCDに入ってる。 音質は録音年代の割りには良好。
