アメリカの魅力といえばやはり、ポップなメロディに爽やかなハーモニーと素朴なアコースティック・サウンドだろう。クロスビー、スティルス、ナッシュ＆ヤングと比較されることが多いが、アメリカの方がポップでメロディアスなので、わかりやすい。このアルバムDefinitive Pop Collectionはワーナー在籍時に発表されたアルバム7枚とシングルからセレクトされている。 America(’72年) Homecoming(’72年) Hat Trick(’73年) Holiday(’74年) Hearts(’75年) Hideaway(’76年) Harbor(’77年) シングルA Horse With No NameのB面　Everyone I Meet Is From California RHINO編集のこのCDはちゃんとしたライナーノーツが付いていて（輸入盤だから当然英語）音質も良好、さすがにRHINOはいい仕事をする。リマスタリングはDan Hersch ＆ Bill Inglot at DigiPrep　アメリカのベスト盤はいろいろ出ていて、やはりRHINO編集のザ・デフィニティヴ・アメリカ(’01年)があるが、こちらはCD1枚で彼らの全キャリアと網羅しているが、2枚組のボリュームで精力的に活動していた時代から選曲したこのCDの方が個人的に好みである。
