アマドゥ・ソジャは70〜80年代のギネアにおいて最も高い人気を誇ったグループ、ホヨヤ・バンドの出身。コラをもっと素朴にしたようなポロンという伝統楽器のマスターであり、同時にすばらしい歌手でもあります。
このアルバムは、彼のセカンド・ソロ・アルバム。制作はシラール・プロダクションです。まずすばらしいのがアルバム全体のサウンド作り。カンテ・マンフィーラあウスマン・クヤーテ（ともにギター）、ジェリ・ムサ・ジャワラ（コラ）、クルファラ・カンテやセクーバ・バンビーノ（コーラス）といったベテランの名手たちを一堂に集め、アクースティックなサウンドをベースに、ほどよくエレキ・ギターなどを織り交ぜた伴奏は、まさに西アフリカ現代ポピュラー音楽の完成品。シラール・プロダクションがこれまで作ってきたアルバムの中でも最高の一枚と言ってよさそうです。そんな素晴らしい演奏をバックに歌うアマドゥのリラックスしたベテランらしい歌声も魅力的。坦々とした歌声ながら、曲調もほどよくヴァラエティに富んで、全く飽きさせません。ジワジワと味わいが広がってゆきます。
