PRIMAL SCREAMも崇拝を公言し、一部の間では今なおカルト的な人気を誇る、米テキサス出身の元祖サイケデリック・ロック・バンドTHE 13th FLOOR ELEVATOESのデビュー1stアルバム「The Psychedelic Sounds of The 13th Floor Elevators」(1966年) がオリジナルとリマスターの両音源を収録した2枚組セットで再登場。本作は限定4,000セットのみの生産された10CDボックスセット「Sign of The Three Eye Men」（現在入手困難）に収録されていた中の１枚が本作です。CD１にはオリジナル・モノラル音源を収録しCD2にはオリジナル・プロデューサーWalt Andrus氏によって丁寧にリマスターが施されたオリジナル・ステレオ音源に4曲のレア音源を追加収録。16ページのブックレット付き豪華なデジ・ブック仕様。

サイケデリックロックの名盤. このバンド特有ともいうべき謎の浮遊感漂うトゥクトゥク音は，エレクトリック・ジャグという楽器によるもの．壺の中にマイクを突っ込んでトゥクトゥク言うだけのものらしいですが，ステージ上で壺に向かってひたすらそんな行動をするだけでかなりのサイケデリアを感じます．過激なガレージサウンドに浮遊感が充満すれば，異様な空間の出来上がり．これ以外では多分聴けない唯一無二の音．
