Dancehall DJ Sean Paul burst onto the U.S. charts in 1996 with his appearance on the soundtrack to Hype Williams' movie, 'Belly' and continued his success with 1999's 'Hot Gal Today' and the album, 'Stage One'. Inspired by the likes of Shabba Ranks, Super Cat, Lieutenant Stitchie and Don Yute, Sean Paul has created his own brand of dancehall reggae, often referred to as "uptown".
