Spoils-
このアルバムを聞くと、上杉昇のルーツに迫れることができるだけでなく、純粋にボーカリスト上杉昇の実力に圧倒される。日本でここまで歌えるのは、他にB'zの稲葉浩志しかいないだろう。自身のセルフカバーは上杉の１５年の進化を一番わかりやすく表しているし、その他の曲は上杉がリスペクトしていたアーティスト達にどれだけ近づき、自身がひけをとらないボーカルに成長できたかを如実に表している。また、聞いていると、サウンド面ではニルバーナのカート、ボーカル面ではガンズのアクセルの影響がひしひしと伝わってくる。

Blackout In The Galaxy -
WANDS時代の名盤『PIECE OF MY SOUL』辺りから見え隠れしていたグランジからの影響。それを巧く昇華し自分なりに表現し我が道を行っていたal.ni.co.それをさらに推し進めたソロ上杉彼の音楽は素晴らしくカッコイイ。WANDS全盛時代の楽曲は大衆向けで“懐かしい過去の名曲”として多くの人の耳に残ってはいるだろう。しかしal.ni.co及びソロ上杉の曲はたしかに大衆向けな音楽ではない。ではないが彼の音楽は色褪せない聴く者の心に訴え続ける名曲であろうと思う。売上げなど気にせずアーティストとして本当に自分が表現したかったものを作った作品だ
