父の持っていた、三演奏家「マントヴァーニ」｢マリオ・デル・モナコ｣｢ダーク・ダックス｣のLPﾚｺｰﾄﾞが、私の一生の趣味を決めてしまった。とくに当時のアンサンブルステレオでエコーをしっかりかけ、唱和していたダーク・ダックスは、今の私のコーラス好きを決定的なものにした先生といっていいだろう。さてCDになって久しいというのに「マントヴァーニ」｢マリオ・デル・モナコ｣は当時の録音のほとんどが手に入る中で、ダーク・ダックスはほとんど発売されない。今のご時世に売れないから仕方ないとは思うが、売れないついでに、もし企画されるならば、初期の録音を復活してくれないだろうか。この商品にも、この後発売された15枚組にも少しは入っているが、少なすぎる！ダーク・ダックスの全盛期は1950年代から60年代までと断言できる。その後もヒット曲はあるが、声の美しさ、切れのよさは70年代以降消え去っている。この選集は、彼らの歌唱の全体像をまとめたものとして高評価するが、その上で、初期作品(世界歌めぐり等)のCD化を切に願うものである。
