輸入FS盤のｸｲﾝﾃｯﾄ･ｺﾝﾌﾟﾘｰﾄで聴いていましたが、今回17年振りに日本盤再発のｵﾘｼﾞﾅﾙｼﾞｬｹｯﾄと言うことで予約して購入しました。D.ﾘﾏｽﾀｰの具合もいいのでは？マーシュと一緒に演奏してきたﾄﾘｽﾀｰﾉ派のＴ．ブラウンとの演奏（ユニゾンの絡み）は素晴らしい。是非、この機会に聴いて欲しい演奏です。

One of the most gifted improvisers of all times in a totally informal session. Owners of the old ”Wave” long play long wished for this reissue because the former contained only Warne´s solos, while this CD includes the entire performances of most tunes (with several additional solos by the saxophonist as well as excellent piano and bass solos). One of the least known and surely one of the best Warne Marsh records, ranking with Lee Konitz´s ”Motion” (although in a much more relaxed key) as an example of truly spontaneous music at its highest level. This CD is an excellent example of a well prepared reissue which clearly advances the patchy quality of the original LP (although the brushes are better heared on the original, mainly on the first tune). Highly recomended.

ウォーン・マーシュ（Warne Marion Marsh 1927年10月26日〜1987年12月18日）はアメリカ合衆国カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルス生まれのジャズ・サックス奏者。アルバムは1957年の録音でワンホーンのリーダー作、通算二枚目。共演者はピアノがロニー・ボール、ベースがレッド・ミッチェル、ドラムがスタン・リービー。リー・コニッツと共にレニー・トリスターノの門下生で演奏の随所にクールを聴くことができる。なめらかなメロディ、リズミカルで洒落たスイングがまさにクール。アルバムとして統一感があるのはバックのロニー・ボールをはじめとする百戦錬磨のクール派によるところも大きい。
