They know each other since 20 years. They have played in different groups together, split, were producing and coaching other bands, having record deals and loose them, were on tour and even get fed up with music. Cy fell in love with a German girl in 2004 and since then he is working mostly in Germany. With a fresh attitude Cy persuaded his two close friends to move over an start a new band by leaving the old life behind. They formed the band Stone Diamond which energy is coming like an asteroid over the world: Brash, primordial rock and roll oozing with classic blues influences The Productionstory: Their Debutalbum we stole the stars from the black night was produced, composed and engineered by Cy who wanted to keep the arrangement as true as possible to serve the songs with the experienced musicality of the bandmembers groove. To keep the spirit of the songs and the band, the songs were recorded on livetracks which were recorded in the rehearsal room before. The drums where engineered by Uli Frost who traveled the world in the name of the drums learning his skills from Totos' Simon Philipps, Chester Thompson and Recordingguru Al Schmitt. He is teaching in L.A.s musicschool. His studio is specialized in drumrecording, so the band could be sure to keep the sound and the full power of The Tongues incredible playing. As special guest the band had L.A.s drumlegend Ricky Lawson (Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Phil Collins etc.) who spontainiously showed up in Ulis Studio an played a firsttake drumgroove on Love Stays! On Wurlitzer, Hammond & Synths they had Toby Philippen who is one of germans most booked keyboard player, producer and mixer. He also did the stringarrangements. The newest L.A. MGMT mixer Noah Shain (Dead Sara, Orson) put all the recordings in the White Buffalo Studio in Hollywood to a perfect match together so the band finally got their special sound. The mastering was done by the Grammy Award winner Brian Lucey who gave the perfect punch and blend into the production.
