2018 release from the legendary Latin percussionist. With this new project, I wanted to reach back and taste all those wonderful flavors of music that sadly arent as common as they used to be. Pete Escovedo. Back to the Bay celebrates the music scene in the Bay Area from Petes first gig at the California Hotels Gold Room in 1953 to the diverse blend of music which had emerged by the 70s and is now known as the Bay Area Sound. Pete Escovedo breaks down the barriers between Smooth Jazz, Salsa, Latin Jazz and contemporary music.
