Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of albums by the jazz trumpeter on one disc. Fergusons last two albums to make the Billboard Top 200, from 1980 and 1982 Both recordings are a mixture of covers and originals done mainly in a disco funk style Stanley Clarke produced Hollywood which has songs such as Michael Jacksons Dont Stop Til You Get Enough and Dolly Partons Nine To Five. After a long association with Columbia, Hollywood was to be Fergusons last album for the company. Extensive new notes by Charles Waring.

Maynard Ferguson

カナダ出身のトランペット奏者。高い音域を正確に演奏するハイノート・ヒッター。 1949年、21歳の時にアメリカに移住し、スタン・ケントン楽団に参加。1954年に楽団を去りパラマウント・ピクチャーズに入り、『十戒』などの映画でリードトランペットを担当。
