Before coming to the U.S. with dreams of playing with Stan Kenton (his dreams promptly came true), this Canadian trumpet star led his own band in Montreal. He returned almost two decades later, performing with his sextet and with his orchestra at the Montreal Exposition in July 1967. Maynard Ferguson

カナダ出身のトランペット奏者。高い音域を正確に演奏するハイノート・ヒッター。 1949年、21歳の時にアメリカに移住し、スタン・ケントン楽団に参加。1954年に楽団を去りパラマウント・ピクチャーズに入り、『十戒』などの映画でリードトランペットを担当。
