New York City saxophonist, leader, and educator Marsha Heydt is widely heard on the radio; in New York City clubs on a monthly basis; and can be found on her debut CD One Night with Blue Toucan Records. Currently, she released her second CD of all originals, Diggin' the Day with BluJazz Records. Inspired by Phil Woods at an early age, Marsha is a product of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and received a Bachelor of Music. She also holds a Masters in Music Education from the Aaron Copland School of Music. She has studied privately with Tim Price, Eric Person, Ron Kerber, John Blake, Larry McKenna, Jim Pugh, John Stubblefield, Sir Roland Hanna and Jimmie Amadie. Her music is the product of her extensive experience in New York City, with diverse elements of Latin, Funk, Jazz, and Rock. Her diversity is exemplified by the fact that she is an author of a children's book Fredi' and Her Lilly Pad Band. A very in demand multi-instrumentalist and leader in New York City, Marsha plays with her New York City based band, The Project of Love, performing in both private and public venues. She also performs for many different festivals, along with education. Within her intense schedule, she has recorded her debut CD One Night with Blue Toucan Records, following that with her second CD of all originals, Diggin the Day with BluJazz Records. Marsha is a very creative forward thinking and highly seasoned professional, ready for anything. This is someone that is getting attention from her music and directions every time she is heard.
