Unavailable in the U.S.! CD reissue of this 1973 live set from the acclaimed Canadian singer/songwriter. Over one thousand renditions of Cohen's songs have been recorded. He has been inducted into both the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame and is also a Companion of the Order of Canada, the nation's highest civilian honor. Live Songs is comprised of recordings made in 1970 and 1972 in different locales including London, Brussels, Paris, Berlin, Isle of Wight and Tennessee. 10 tracks, including 'Minute Prologue', 'Passing Through', 'You Know Who I Am' and 'Bird on the Wire'. コーエンのライブの中では文句なくベスト作。スザンヌが入ってないのが残念だけど、この濃密な雰囲気には圧倒されること間違いなし。６と１０（後者はホテルの一室にて録音）の密室感は凄まじいものがある。

1934年生まれ、2016年11月10日死去。カナダ・モントリオール生まれのレナード・コーエンはユダヤ人の中流家庭に育ち、少年時代からギターに勤しむ。学生時代には英文学を専攻し、1956年に最初の詩集を出版している。63年の『Favorite Games』と66年の『Beautiful Losers』が傑作として認められ、詩人/小説家として・・・
