EU-only two CD set containing a trio of albums from the Jazz greats. This set presents, for the first time ever on a single collection, all existing collaborations by master jazzmen Johnny Hodges and Earl Hines. Included in their entirety are their three full LPs together - ONCE UPON A TIME, STRIDE RIGHT and SWING'S OUR THING - plus their two remaining collaborative sessions: A 1944 date for the Apollo label, and a session taped shortly before Hodges' death (he died on May 11, 1970 of a heart attack during a visit to his dentist). All in all, this is wonderful swing music featuring such stellar sidemen as Cat Anderson, Ray Nance, Pee Wee Russell, Jimmy Hamilton, Kenny Burrell, and Elvin Jones, among many others.
