Digitally remastered and expanded edition. Contains the complete original LP the Art Tatum Trio, pairing the superb pianist with bassist Red Calendar and the great swing drummer Jo Jones (this is the only existing studio collaboration between Tatum and Jones). This was among the last sessions recorded by Tatum, who would die soon after on November 5, 1956 at the age of 47. As a bonus to the 10 tracks on the original album, we have included different versions by Tatum of seven of the LP's songs, which have been organized here in the same song order as on the Tatum-Calendar-Jones date. Art Tatum

アーサー・テイタム・ジュニアことアート・テイタムは、最新の情報では1909年10月13日、オハイオ・州トレドに生まれている。家族はアートが生まれる直前にノースカロライナ州から移ってきており、父は機械工だった。アートは小さい時から音楽が好きで、13歳でヴァイオリンを習い、次いでピアノを始めている。彼は生まれつき目が不自由で片方の目が半分くらい見えるだけだった。
