One of the key figures in the development of be-bop, Al Haig's piano has graced some of the best recording sessions in all of jazz. Presented here is his masterful 1954 Esoteric release, simply titled Al Haig Trio, often described as a highlight in the career of one of the best pianists in modern jazz history. On these recordings Al turns some time-worn standards into be-bop adventures, assisted by Bill Crow on bass and Lee Abrams on drums. All selections newly re-mastered.
