Kunihiko bestowed playfully on this sensitive saxophonist after Nabesada, who is a well known alto saxophonist. Kunihiko performs mainly in the city of Utsunomiya, located in central Japan. Being asked 'So, what got you into playing the sax?' he answered 'One day I heard Dexter Gordon on the radio. I think I was about 18 years old. I must have heard Jazz before that, and I really didn't get what was going on. So that was when I kind of understood what Jazz was. And I thought, if it were that complicated, it would be cool if I could play it. So I began.' People take up something new, and chances are, they really make it to get good enough to perform for, and entertain, the audience and get paid. Kunihiko is one of those rare people, who have maintained their passion and motivation to become that good. He is skillful not only with well-developed nuance and articulation but also with compassion and gentleness embedded in his tone. ' I think Jazz is one of the best ways to express human soul. To express proximity or distance between triste, or happiness, and felicidade, or sadness has always been my theme. Life is often compared to a journey, but do we know where we are headed?
